Time To Play....

...Catch Up!! (if I can remember everything)

January-The first of January was Todd's first day of Army Retirement after 21 years 2 months and 29 days (but who counted) of service!!!

February-Show Choir started for Meg on the 12th and they did 6 shows total-I had a lot of fun going to the competitions and spending time with the kids and Chelsea went to all the competitions also to help do the girls hair and make up for the shows

March-I celebrated my birthday....show choir ended...of course in that time frame Meg was not only busy with show choir rehearsals but also Musical rehearsals, they did 3 performances of Grease, which was absolutely FANTASTIC!!  Those kids worked so hard and it showed :) ....our cat population grew by 5 kittens on the last day of March

April-Chelsea, Megan, my Mom and I went to Maryland over Meg's spring break so Meg could see some friends and we left Chelsea there for an extended visit....Todd and I celebrated our 25th anniversary (of being together, not our wedding)...Todd started working at Wal Mart :( (but at least it's a job)

May-Megan went to her Senior Prom

June-Megan graduated from high school...major issues with my computer (didn't have it for about 2 weeks) now I have basically a completely redone CPU

July-Megan turned 18 on the 2nd and well some other things that I don't want to jinx right now :)

Lots of emotions from so many directions...like my baby graduating and turning 18, Chelsea will be moving back to Maryland and going to college there, Megan is going to college in IN, but will be moving out also...trying to adjust to Todd being retired from the Army,  This is definitely a year of major change for us.  I am going to attempt, yet AGAIN, to do some regular posting or at least some pics.  Fingers crossed :)  Here are some pics....

Well apparently the universe didn't want me to post any other pictures tonight except for the 2 from Meg's senior prom...I will try for more pics tomorrow.  GRRRRRR.....

Kitten Cuteness :)

It has been an INCREDIBLY LONG time since I have posted on here...lots to share, some not worth sharing or talking about...But I will do an update later.  For now enjoy the kitten cuteness, we have 5 little babies who are 3 weeks old today.  With all the stress around here it is nice to have something so precious and sweet to remind us how great life can be!!

Where did you go August??

WHO CARES!!!!  I am so happy that August has less then 14 hours to go :)   It really wasn't a bad month, just glad that tomorrow is September because after September comes OCTOBER!!  I know, I know, a big well duh!!   We have 40 days until Todd is home and that makes me very, very excited!!!!

So let's discuss this month of August that flew by.   It has been very dry around here, too dry actually.  Everything seems to be dieing except the freakin weeds which include some really monster sized thistles.  The yellow jackets are (were) thriving in my water hose reel as I found out last night when I got stung on the finger by one of the little bad words.  But they were quickly annihilated :D  Todd turned 40 this month.  Megan started her senior year :(  and is in show choir, which is gonna cost me a small fortune in addition to all the costs of her senior year!!   Dawn got a job in D.C.  Chelsea is still applying for and trying to get a job.  I had surgery on the 6th for all of my not so nice female issues.  So far so good, but time will tell if it did the trick.  We have another new kitty that was found in the same place Rocky was.  He was skinnier and had some kind of chemical burn on his poor little nose and the whiskers on the left side of his face were really short :(  His name is Gizmo because he has some big ears and eyes.  Now hopefully the 3 cats can get along or we will be looking for a new home for Gizmo after he is neutered.  He is just as lovey and ornery as Mr. Rocky :)

We are excited about September for so many reasons.  Todd will be doing his shopping for things we want from Korea, YAY!!  I have a list of projects for the girls and I to complete and a few of those projects will need some help from my father :)  We have a few appointments for the animals and Megan.  Megan will also start after school rehearsals for show choir and the play towards the end of September.  Todd will start clearing to get the heck out of there!!!!  We have some birthday cards to deliver.  All in all September SHOULD be a very busy/productive month.  Who knows maybe sometime in there I will actually take some more pictures and even put them on the computer!!  :D  it's a good theory anyway....heehee  If I can't manage pictures  maybe I can at least manage to post more, but I am NOT promising anything.

May, June and part of July updates....

Well I have some updating to do :)  We shall start with May...on the 8th Meg went to Junior/Senior Prom and looked absolutely fabulous!!  She had a great time with her friends getting ready, going out to eat and at prom.
We left for Maryland on the 20th so that on Saturday May 22nd we could see my Dawnee graduate Summa Cum Laude from McDaniel College!!!!  We are extremely proud of her and honored to be her parents :)  I ordered a DVD of graduation so that Todd can see the whole thing :)
On the 16th of May I signed into facebook and saw that one of my friends had found a kitty living under her porch and of course she posted pictures :)  Well my heart melted and I immediately started crying.  This little baby kitty looked A LOT like our Reggie who we had to have put down exactly a month before this.  I contacted my friend and the next day she brought this slightly scared, sweet little man to our house.  We were immediately off to the vets to make sure he was ok.  Our vet was surprised by the resemblance to Reggie also.  We named the little man Rocky and he is doing extremely well!  We (the vet and I) estimated his age and he ended up with my birthday, which was around the time Reggie started getting really sick again.  We had said that if we were going to have another cat that Reggie would have a helping paw in the matter and we are convinced that God and Reggie sent this little man to us.  He is definitely helping heal my heart and keeps us laughing and he is very snuggly and lovey :)  I will post pics later, there are PLENTY on the camera!!
The weekend of Dawn's graduation the weather was extremely hot and humid in Indiana and Chelsea (who couldn't travel with us)  was miserable in the house without central air.  Well Sunday night when we got home it was still miserable.  So I did the only thing I could think of I called a company to come out and tell me how much it would cost to have a furnace/central air put in.  Things worked out and on June 1st they began the installation process, which was not fun, they ran into several problems but on the 7th of June they finished!!
Of course I wasn't here when they finished installing the furnace/central!!  Meg finished school on the 4th of June, had SAT's on the 5th and the afternoon of the 5th Chels, my Mom and I left for Maryland to see....TODD :)  He was there for a conference/training for almost 2 weeks.  I had the best 13 day vacation EVER!!  It had been almost 10 months since we had seen each other and when it was time to leave my Dad and Meg came to get me and Dawn is living with friends in Maryland right now, so we all got to see Todd!!  Coming home was great, having to say goodbye to Todd again SUCKED!!  But the time is going by quickly.  We are having a pretty good summer break before Meg starts her Senior year.  We all have nice tans going, spending time with friends and family and spending some quality time with my girls is always wonderful.
July 2nd my baby turned 17!!  We had a cookout at my Mom's over the 4th and watched the fireworks, it was great to be with family...but nothing compares to a 4th on an Army post!!!  Yesterday we hit the 3 month mark until Todd is home, YAY!!  Some other misc. things have gone on, like getting a new computer and I have a doctor appt on the 15th to discuss my fibroids and such again.  We also have a cookout at my in-laws coming up next week.  Hope everyone is enjoying their summer and I will get pics off of my camera ASAP and get them organized and some posted on here eventually :)

NEWS...

Well I FINALLY changed my blog address and name, not quite what I wanted, but it's pretty close.  It's kinda irritating how people choose a blog name, then don't use it for over 7 years, but what give up the blog address, so other people can have it...oh well, such is life.  On the side of my blog you will see two new countdowns!!!  We are very excited about them as you can see what they are ;)  Here are pictures of Todd's YAY you are freaking retiring present....

It's a 2010 Equinox, which is something Todd and I both really wanted.  We had started having some issues with the 2005 and while I had it in for an oil change Chels and I looked at the new ones they had and fell in love :)  Our payments are LESS on the new one than they were on the old one, which is wonderful.  I feel like we did our part to help GM and the economy :), maybe not, but I like the way it sounds!!!  We have another storm headed this way so I will finish this up, watch the race while I can and update more later.  Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!!!

Missing my Lil Man...

Well, today was a very sucky day.  My poor Lil Man was in really bad shape this morning after a couple of years of fighting with urinary issues.  We made a very tough and painful decision to have him put to sleep so he wouldn't suffer any more pain.  We brought him home wrapped in a pink towel, because pink was his favorite color and he loved towels (on or off of people)  and gathered his favorite things and something special from all 5 of us and we buried this sweet baby boy next to the apple tree out back where he can see the house and have sunshine and shade, watch the birdies, butterflies and bunnies and rest in peace with no more pain and I am sure that he is running and playing with Gabby.  We love you very much Reggie and we already miss you terribly.

March Happenings...

Well I am definitely not keeping up with this blog am I??!! Nothing new about that, I know :) Well I turned 40 on the 4th and had a good birthday with Chels and Meg. Lily turned 4 this month, Reggie started having crystals in his urine again and scared the you know what out of us, he is doing better for now, but doesn't want to cooperate about taking his berry powder or eating canned food! Chelsea has been in Maryland for 2 weeks and will be home on Easter, that has been weird, but it has given Meg and I some quality time for just the 2 of us. There were some other things that happened, some not worth mentioning and some that won't be mentioned right now :) I am working on getting part of the yard fenced in for the doggies and some trees cut down that some chuckleheads planted over the septic system!!!! I also need to get someone to come out and clear my field of weeds so that we can turn it into a yard and plant some trees (far away from the septic tank) and some different flowers and such! I love spring!!! Tomorrow I will be cleaning house for Meg's party and because of our shedding animals, paying bills, enjoying beautiful weather and missing Todd (as usual). Hoping April goes just about as fast as March did :)
